(1)Topic:Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think
people visit museums? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Essay:Many people visit the museum when they travel to new places, this is seemingly a common phenomenon at the background of high living quality in our modern
society. I think there may be three reasons for people to do that and these are listed as follows.
First of all, a new place where a museum can be built must have a long history, which is often attractive and interesting. So, when one travels to a new place of this kind, he many well visit the museum out of both curiosity and interest to explore a fully
unfamiliar history consisting of stories about a fully unfamiliar group of people.
Secondly, except for a long and maybe a brilliant history, customs of a certain group of people can also be reflected by the things on show in the museum. Many visitors, especially those who travel in the hope of learning more about different peoples and different onstoms all over the world, needless to say, will go directly to the museum on their arrival in a new place.
Furthermore, on my personal experience, the main propose of taking a trip for most people is to widen their views of the world, and the museum in new places many travelers visit must be nothing other than an excellent place to meet what most
travelers want during their trip. So, visiting museums is undoubtedly a meaningful action for most travelers.
Based on the three reasons mentioned above, we can easily draw a conclusion that visiting museums is a significant part of a wonderful trip and I believe this is why so
many people visit the museum when they travel to a new place.
(2)Topic:A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.
Essay:In my opinion, I would like to support the company's plan to build a large factory near my community.
First of all, the direct impact of this plan on my community is that it will improve the economic conditions to such a degree that almost every one in our community will be quickly enriched directly or indirectly by the influence of this plan. For example, now that the factory is for production, large amounts of raw materials and ready-made products must contact with outside by means of transportation, so some community residents may well step down to engage in such jobs as transportation and make a living by this.
Secondly, building a factory will be the right thing to solve the problem that the job-losing rate always stands at a high level in my community. Those who lost in my community can regain their jobs once the factory is thrusted to production. So, the company's plan, in some sense, can be something like one stone killing two birds, it not only disposes properly of those who lost jobs, but also gets a great many cheap labor forces for production.
The plan, however, still has a few faults and one of the most fatal disadvantages is that the new factory will probably decrease the formerly good environmental conditions of my community, we can even think of the harsh scene where the whole community would be covered with hordes of smoke emitted by the production process of the newly founded factory.
In a word, I think, this plan has more advantages than disadvantages, especially in such community as mine which needs developing, so, I totally support the company's plan ¡ªto build a new factory in my community.
