I strongly aggree with the statement that university should give the same
amount of money to their students' sports activities as they give to their
university libraries. Going to university will give the students the
opportunity to learn more useful information. However, not all knowledge can
be obtained from the teaching and textbooks.
Most students learn new things by attending the classes and reading the books.
If they want to learn something more or something new, then they can turn to
the library to meet their needs. However, they can hardly learn something
different from the teaching and textbooks. As far as "team work" is concerned,
students could understand its true meaning by interacting with their friends.
The most esay way to learn the true spirits of team work is to play ball games
with people having the different personalities. Therefore, a university must
do the best to provide various of sports facilities with their students. For
example, the swimming pools, the baseball field, the tennis courts, and so on.
Besides, "safety" is one thing that counts. So, a school should build standard
sports facilities. Then the students don't have to worry about their safety while
playing.
If students have the chance to make friends with more people, they can broden
their views. In addition, most of the time they will meet someone who is hard
to deal with. Students should try their best to solve the problems. We all know
that "social skills" are the most important quality which we must have. The best
way to learn the social skills is by interacting with people. This kind of quality
could hardly be learned by teaching and reading.
To sum up, there are lots of thing a student have to learn. If a university is
willing to give the same amount of money to their students' sports activities as
they give to thier university libraries, then the students can benefit more from
it.
