The twentieth century is a century saw great change, such as the invention of car and the emergence of the internet. But in my eyes, the computer is the most wonderful change that should be remembered about the century.
First, the emergence of computers makes it easy to calculate and control. The initial purpose of the invention of computers is to calculate. And with the help of computers, we can spend much less time to calculate than it does with human brain. Later, people begin to use computer to control operate processes like stream lines of manufacture or even comprehensive information systems. All those I mentioned have make our life more convenient, easy and fast.
Second, through internet which connect with the outside world, computers have greatly influenced our lifestyle. In the old days without computers, the television is the most influential object to the people grow up with TV. But in our days, most of the youth generation do not stay before TV any more, but are more and more stick to computers and the internet. So more and more people begin to find pleasure on computers rather than anything else.
The last reason that I commend computers is that computers have initialed a great revolution in the media world. In the past, people write with pen on paper and get information through books, newspapers, television and radio. But now, we use computers to compile everyday because of its convenience.
In sum, computers have not only made our life easy, convenient and fast, but also changed our lifestyle greatly. Computers are really the most remarkable change in the twentieth century.
